You are the director of human resources at the National Organization of Zoos and Aquariums (NOZA), a nonprofit organization that educates, promotes and advocates for local zoos and aquariums. There are six departments at NOZA: education, advocacy, membership, marketing, finance and administration. Each of the departments has multiple staff members that serve the organization and its members.
NOZA currently has several open full-time positions in each of the departments. As director of human resources, you have engaged in various online recruitment channels including Indeed, Monster, LinkedIn, ZipRecruiter and Glassdoor. Open positions have been posted on the NOZA website, on local media and on various social media platforms. There has only been a handful of interest in the open positions and none of the submitted resumes have yielded second interviews.
The executive director wants NOZA to begin attending job fairs in the area to recruit new talent to the organization and find other in-person recruitment channels that NOZA has not yet been actively involved.
In addition, the executive director wants you to develop a talent recruitment strategy that will utilize current staff as NOZA ambassadors. The executive director wants you to explain how using current staff as ambassadors will help with recruitment and how they can be encouraged to participate.
