Case Study of the Week: Employee Engagement Survey

Mar 30, 2026

Human Resources

You are the director of human resources at Revolution Marketing, a marketing agency with 100 employees. Revolution Marketing’s employees hold positions in marketing, sales, design, public relations and account management. The staff is diverse in age with many recent college graduates, some nearing retirement and many in between.

The president is concerned about the decline in workplace culture. The office does not seem to be a happy place and most office chatter is about being overworked and disengaged. Many are frustrated with the return-to-office policy which eliminated the work-from-home opportunities put in place during the pandemic.

The president wants to identify factors that are negatively impacting the workplace, measure employee engagement and commitment and understand issues and needs important to all employees.

The president wants you to design an employee engagement survey. You must create the survey, determine survey questions and share how the information will be collected.
