Matthew Peagler’s first introduction to DECA was during his senior year at Desert Mountain High School. Despite everything being online, he placed fourth at his association-level conference. He enjoyed the experience and decided to continue with Collegiate DECA, joining the chapter at Scottsdale Community College. Originally the only member of his chapter, Matthew spent time recruiting at club fairs, in classrooms and working with the Council of Student Leaders. After some time, he recruited a full officer team and members who have attended volunteer events, career immersion tours and association conferences. Before DECA, Matthew spent eleven years as a Boy Scout, completing his Eagle Scout and devoting countless hours to helping his troop, fulfilling practically every leadership position available.
