The High Plains Technology Center DECA chapter is on a mission: to bring home that coveted DECA glass! With competition season fast approaching, our chapter hosted a competition preparation session to help members refine their skills, gain confidence and prepare to shine on the DECA stage.
Practice Makes Perfect
The session provided competitors with the opportunity to step into a simulated competition environment. Members presented their case studies, role-plays and projects in front of judges who provided an authentic judging experience. From handling time constraints to perfecting their presentations, participants gained valuable insights into what it takes to excel.
Feedback That Makes a Difference
One of the session’s highlights was the detailed feedback from judges. Competitors received actionable advice on improving their communication, creativity and critical thinking skills. The feedback didn’t just identify areas for improvement—it also celebrated each competitor’s unique strengths, boosting their confidence.
