November goes beyond turkeys, Black Friday shopping and pumpkin pies; for DECA students, November is a month filled with engagement, spotlights and celebrations for everything related to DECA. For each day in November, there is a DECA-related prompt that challenges members to post content correlating to it.
Here are some tips and tricks on how to dominate the #DECAMonth Social Media Challenge.
1. Create a Schedule
Last-minute content creation can be a challenge, especially when it comes to creating a high-quality post. To ensure that you capture the picture-perfect post, making a schedule can help organize your ideas, photos and memories on time.
Brainstorm ideas for each prompt in October, finalize the post at least three days before the prompt date and utilize the “Schedule” feature on social media platforms to ensure you don’t forget to post on that day. If you are participating with your chapter or a team of friends, delegating a day for each member to post on would help maintain the flow of the post schedule and reduce any miscommunication.
2. Prioritize Member Engagement
DECA month has a variety of prompts that can involve all types of DECA members. Use this opportunity to ask members in your chapter if they would like to be featured in a post or to even help brainstorm content ideas for an upcoming day. DECA month is a great opportunity to showcase your chapter, and, most importantly, each of its members.
3. Go Outside of the Box
Interpret the prompt in any way you see fit! Allow each prompt to help you practice your innovative skills and creative mindset, making your posts stand out during DECA month.
Don’t settle for the bare minimum; #GoTheExtra to utilize DECA month as a means to boost your chapter engagement, expand your social media presence and increase the number of memories your chapter creates.
