5 Ideas for Your Collegiate DECA Spring Recruitment

Jan 20, 2021

A new semester brings new possibilities and opportunities. Even if your membership didn't match your goals for the fall semester, we are all in this together and can help ensure we have a successful spring DECA season! Here are five spring recruitment ideas.

1. Get Involved in the Community

Being active in your community and on-campus will give your chapter a positive brand identity.

2. Market Your Chapter

The best way to attract new members is to show them how close your Collegiate DECA chapter truly is. Many college students have struggled with the pandemic and being able to have a family away from home will help their mental health.

3. Highlight Competition

Show potential members the great opportunity that they will have to compete at your association conference and during ICDC. This could include hosting a mock competition.

4. Partner with Other Organizations

There is nothing wrong with teaming up with other student organizations. Leveraging the students in other organizations is a great way to share opportunities. Encouraging your DECA members to join other organizations should also be done.

5. Advertise Leadership Opportunities

There are often students on campus that are natural-born leaders and have held leadership positions in the past. Yet, they have not found their niche in college. Showing these students the potential for leadership within DECA will lure them in!
