Mar 4, 2019

Over 400 DECA members have been recognized for the Emerging Leader Honor Award for 2019.

This award recognizes DECA high school seniors studying marketing, finance, hospitality, and management while also being an academically prepared, community oriented, professionally responsible, experienced leader through their participation in DECA.

To be recognized for this award, the DECA member must participate in various activities such as promoting DECA in the community, participating in a school-based enterprise, and competing at a DECA conference (among other experiences.) These activities fulfill different categories that make up a well-rounded emerging leader.

This emerging leader must have completed a marketing, business management, entrepreneurship, finance or hospitality and tourism course and have a 3.2 cumulative GPA or higher for the academic portion of the award. The requirements for this award also include approval from the member’s advisor, counselor, principal and parents.
