Three Passports, One Goal: Making the Most of Collegiate DECA

Nov 1, 2026

One of the biggest questions we hear throughout the year is, “How do we keep members engaged throughout the fall semester?”

The answer? Collegiate DECA’s Leadership Passport Programs!

With three programs designed for individuals, chapters and associations, there’s a way for everyone to stay involved, grow and earn recognition beyond competition.

1. Individual Leadership Passport: Start With You

Looking to make the most of your Collegiate DECA membership? The Individual Leadership Passport is a great place to start!

Here are just a few ways to get involved:

  • Attend DECA conferences and events.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities.
  • Connect with industry professionals.
  • Give back through community service.
  • Take on new leadership opportunities.

Whether you’re a new member or have been involved for years, there’s always something new to experience in DECA!

2. Chapter Leadership Passport: Grow Together

Keeping your chapter active doesn’t have to be complicated! The Chapter Leadership Passport gives chapters a roadmap to keep members involved throughout the year.

Looking for ideas? Start with:

  • Hosting social events and chapter activities.
  • Planning workshops and networking opportunities.
  • Recruiting new members and welcoming them into your chapter.
  • Organizing community service projects.
  • Encouraging members to participate beyond competition.

The best part? Many of the activities your chapter already has planned can help you work toward completing your passport!

3. Association Leadership Passport: Think Bigger

For our association leaders, the Association Leadership Passport takes engagement beyond a single campus.

It’s an opportunity to bring chapters together and strengthen the Collegiate DECA experience across your association.

Some ways to get started include:

  • Creating opportunities for chapters to connect.
  • Supporting chapter recruitment and membership growth.
  • Hosting association-wide events and activities.
  • Providing resources to chapter officers and advisors.
  • Encouraging collaboration between chapters.

Ready to Get Started?

You don’t have to wait until competition season to make the most of your Collegiate DECA experience! Whether you’re looking for ways to get more involved, planning your chapter’s next event or leading your association, the Leadership Passport Programs are a great place to start.

Your next step? Take a look at the requirements, see what you’ve already accomplished and start planning what’s next!
