Managing School Stress During Busy Times

Apr 1, 2024

Stepping into April also means you are stepping into one of the busiest times of the year. Managing final exams, AP exams, IB exams, ICDC preparation, summer jobs/internships and so much more places a burden of stress on your shoulders that can sometimes feel unmanageable. As someone who has been through this, survived this and is also currently going through this, here are my top tips!

Build in Time to Relax

While you may not be someone who plans out their whole week or day in advance, I strongly encourage everyone to take the time to plan out activities with your friends and family or just designate time to sit back and do something enjoyable and relaxing for you.

Eat Food that is Good for Your Body

The food you choose to fuel your body largely impacts how energized and focused you are. Eating nutritious food for your body will help you be more productive as you push yourself.

Ask for Help

It is important to know that people around you can and will help you if you ask. Tapping into these networks when you need assistance is never something you should be afraid of!

Speak Success into Existence

Avoid complaining about the workload or how you think you might be unable to get everything done. Instead, talk about how much more accomplished and relieved you will feel once everything is done and try to speak about the tasks you have to complete positively. Through this, you are subconsciously setting your brain up to be able to stay motivated and work harder.

If you believe in yourself, take care of your body and mind, and use your peers, friends and family as a support system, you WILL get through this. No matter how hard it seems to get through this time, know that you will feel unbelievably proud once you have accomplished all you aim for!
