4 Team Bonding Activities to Do with Your Team This Summer

Jul 20, 2022

Are you looking to build stronger connections with your friends, officers or members? Here are four unique ideas to Get the Edge with your team over the summer!

1. Perform a Service Project Together

Gandhi said, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” Community service brings everyone together for a common cause and benefits worthy organizations. From tie-blanket making to volunteering at a local animal shelter, not only do you build connections with your team, but you can also build connections within your community!

2. Start a Compliment Circle

A compliment circle can be not only a great way to have your team bond, but it can also highlight everyone’s positive traits. Gather in a circle, pick someone to start and have them say something positive about the person next to them. Then, continue clockwise until everyone has given and received a compliment! We all want to feel valued in a team setting, and this is a great way to boost morale.

3. Try Your Hand at an Escape Room

Imagine you and your team are stuck in a room for an hour, and your objective is to escape. Escape rooms can be a great way to build connections and see each person’s skills in an environment where you’re presented with a problem and need a solution. Even if you don’t successfully make it out of the room, it shows you the strengths and weaknesses of your team and how you can improve on them!

4. Host a PowerPoint Night

A newer idea gaining popularity on TikTok, a PowerPoint Night is an easy way to bring everyone together for a night full of fun! Have each group member make a PowerPoint on any topic they want to discuss! Anything goes in a PowerPoint Night, so get creative on what you want to present. This low-stress activity can show what your teammates are passionate about while hopefully having a few laughs along the way.

There are many ways to grow as a team, but the time is now to build those connections. Starting early with building your team can help you Get the Edge throughout the year, as you will already know how your team will function successfully! We hope you have a great summer, and we can’t wait to see you all build your connections and Get the Edge!
