Ensign Collegiate DECA started this year off on the right foot after a big year in 2021-2022! It’s been a busy few weeks, but we are ready to get the edge this year.
On January 20th, the Ensign College DECA chapter met to prepare for the DECA state competition. Members had signed up for their event beforehand and were ready to become masters in their category. The day consisted of practice, chapter bonding and, last but not least, donuts. It was an incredible day for the DECA chapter at Ensign College, with high energy and great enthusiasm. Past DECA participants and brand-new DECA members gathered for our mock competition. It was great to see individuals gain confidence throughout the mock competition and discuss and share their tips, tricks and hacks.
The Ensign College Business Club President, Skyler Hall, was in attendance and shared his delight about the successful event. “The mock competition was a great experience. I’m glad I was able to run it and allow students to practice and get excited about the DECA competition.”
Getting together as a chapter to learn, build on each other's energy and make much-needed memories together. Our college has terrific faculty who were willing to volunteer as judges during the mock competition. They guided us throughout the day and gave insightful recommendations on improving before DECA state competition. As both students and chapter members, we must get constructive feedback to improve in the areas we lack. We love the transparency, and we love the opportunity to grow. DECA has helped us build relationships. It has provided students with a community of individuals who strive to become the best version of themselves. We constantly push our limits and expand our skills. At Ensign, we motivate each other; support each other, and, best of all; enjoy the process together.
We feel excited, motivated, and confident about the state competition here in Utah, which is coming up in just a couple of weeks. February 10th can’t come fast enough. The DECA Ensign College Chapter will see you soon. We are thrilled and ready to bring our best.
