As seniors in high school, we may be crossing the DECA stage for the last time soon. With the memories of every conference, mentor and advisor, we look back on DECA. For four years, DECA opened new doors for us. As seniors, we assume graduation closes the door on them. But what if it hands us a new key?
DECA doesn’t have to end at graduation, especially within national and association opportunities.
National Opportunities
- Continue within competition! Judge at ICDC, bringing your expertise to the competitors and leaders of the future.
- Share things you learned in high school and in your career through serving as an Executive Mentor. Through the Aspire Academy at ICDC, participate in roundtables with 600 high school seniors to help them prepare for college and career readiness.
Association Opportunities
- Register through your association! The best way to remain involved is through your association. Associations often offer additional opportunities to network with industry professionals, serve as judges at the association level, and help out on state action teams.
- Opportunities vary by association. Be sure to research your own state association’s programs and alumni benefits so you can take advantage of what’s available and stay connected.
Networking That Doesn’t Expire
- DECA helps you build your lifelong professional connections from LinkedIn relationships to best friends. Keep in touch with those who can support your future goals!
- Reach out to advisors to offer guidance to the next generation of students.
