We all know that there are plenty of benefits for students to be a part of our beloved organization. This year has been full of obstacles which at times has made it difficult to do the things we have done in the past, but in April our chapter was reminded of the best parts of DECA.

On April 26, 2021, the Governor of Missouri, Mike Parson, visited staff and students at the Saline County Career Center to learn about what they gain by being a part of a program. The tour was led by two SCCC DECA officers, Alexia Bowlen (President) and Xane Anderson (Vice President of Leadership).

As a DECA advisor, I was so proud of their professionalism and poise. By the end of the tour, the Governor remarked on how much he enjoyed meeting our members and made a point of talking about DECA and its benefits. It will be a memory that will last a lifetime!
