Collegiate DECA Competitive Event Draft Topics Announced for 2024-2025

Get a head start on the 2024-2025 competition season with Collegiate DECA's competitive event draft topics for the Business Research, Digital Marketing Strategies and Financial Statement Analysis events.

Business Research Topic

The 2024-2025 topic is the development of a strategic plan to enhance or introduce the use of AI in an existing business or organization. Participants will collaborate with a local business or organization to analyze current AI strategies and practices. Participants will then develop and present a strategic plan for AI usage.

Specific learning objectives:

The business research event provides an opportunity for students to:

  • Analyze the business/organization’s current AI strategy, practices and policies.
  • Create a strategic plan to introduce or enhance AI usage.
  • Present the findings and conclusions in an interactive situation.

Digital Marketing Strategies Topic

The objective for the 2024-2025 year is to create a comprehensive digital marketing strategy for a cyber security company. Digital marketing strategies include, but are not limited to, websites, mobile applications, social media outlets, animation, videos and the like. The strategy should include a clearly integrated brand identity for a cyber security company.

Financial Statement Analysis Topic

The Financial Statement Analysis event involves a team of 2 to 3 participants analyzing the financial statements of two (2) companies from the same industry, preparing a written analysis and then presenting their findings and recommendations. For 2024-2025, participants will analyze financial statements for Nike, Inc. and Adidas AG using the December 31, 2023, Form 10-K for each organization.
