Grace Maloney | DECA Direct Reporter
Grace Maloney is a junior at Freedom High School and the Academy of Engineering and Technology in Loudoun County, Virginia. She has been involved with DECA for the past three years, currently serving as Vice-President and as Historian in the previous year of her school’s chapter. She has competed and gone to ICDC for the past two years, most recently competing in the Independent Business Plan category. Grace is Captain of the cross-country team and runs indoor and outdoor track. She is a co-founder for a start-up company, Grow Greenly LLC, that manufactures biodegradable plant pots and was selected as the winner of the IncubatorEdu National Pitch competition this summer in Chicago, Illinois. She has completed summer internship programs with the Naval Research Laboratory and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute – Janelia Research Center. Grace is also a co-inventor and patent holder for a life vest, the “Floodie”.
