Introducing the Revamped Collegiate DECA Leadership Passport Program

Take yourself and your Collegiate DECA chapter to the next level with the revamped Leadership Passport Program.

The Leadership Passport Program encourages local Collegiate DECA chapters and individual members to plan activities and participate in events that enhance the experiences of members. The program rewards actions taken by members and chapters that build personal and professional skills focused around helping members be academically prepared, community-oriented, professionally responsible and experienced leaders.

What's new this year?

  • Simplified Guidelines – Both the individual and chapter guidelines have been realigned to create parallel structures, making both easier to understand. View the new guidelines here.
  • Virtually Attainable – As we continue to adapt to the global pandemic together, we've made it possible to achieve this year's awards in a virtual setting. Whether you're on campus with your chapter, or connecting from home, you can still maximize the benefits that come from Collegiate DECA.
  • Strategic Alignment – The guidelines are directly aligned with the Collegiate DECA Executive Officer Team's Program of Leadership for the 2020-2021 year.  The team's goals aim to directly impact members and bring about positive change within the organization. You and your chapter can help improve Collegiate DECA by completing your passport programs and by starting early!

Make this the best year yet for yourself and your chapter!

Although this is an international recognition program, feel free to customize it to best serve your chapter. Breaking up the Chapter Leadership Passport into smaller milestones will give your chapter leadership team and members the best experience possible. In addition, members are also encouraged to set personal goal dates for completion of the Individual Leadership Passport items. If you do not have a goal written down, it will not get done. Having every member of your chapter write out their goals at an early meeting is one way to ensure high engagement and success throughout the year.

Make sure to begin your passport as early as possible to get the most out of it this year. Be on the lookout for “how-to guides” from the Executive Officer Team for tips and tricks to attain each award.

As DECA’s leadership specialist, Debbie implements a comprehensive student leadership program for both the high school and college divisions. She is responsible for the Emerging Leader Series, executive officer teams and elections, and student recognition programs like the Collegiate DECA Leadership Passport Program and DECA Emerging Leader Honor Award. Debbie has worked for DECA since 2019.
