DECA's 2021 Emerging Leader Summit is just around the corner and the Executive Officer Team is excited to welcome leaders to the U.S. Capital. Washington, D.C. is a beautiful city with a lot to offer. Take a peek at these iconic landmarks to add to your trip's itinerary.

1. Front of the White House

What is the point of coming to Washington, D.C. and not taking a stroll down Pennsylvania Avenue? Take a moment to take in this iconic home that houses the President of the United States. Who knows, you might even catch a glimpse of the President on his morning walk!

2. United States Capitol Building

Not too far from the White House, you will find the legendary home of the United States Legislature. Every morning, members from the U.S. House and Senate gather here to conduct business on behalf of the American people. Do not miss the opportunity to potentially meet your Congressional Representative or U.S. Senator!

3. Washington Monument

You probably have already seen the Washington Monument on postcards and pictures. The question is: Have you ever seen it in person? This tribute to America’s first president, George Washington, towers over the district and is definitely an amazing sight that you have to see in person.

4. Lincoln Memorial

Just across the pond from the Washington Monument sits the enormous Lincoln Memorial. Do not miss your opportunity to take a selfie with Abraham Lincoln.

5. Library of Congress

It is not every day that you can say that you have visited the largest library on the planet! D.C. is home to the oldest federal institution and the official facility for the United States Congress.
