How can I help my members prepare now?
DECA’s Competitive Events Program has long been aligned to National Curriculum Standards and offered rigorous outlines for prepared events. As DECA members would usually, they should continue to focus on learning the content knowledge for their competitive event. In addition, they should continue exam preparation, practicing role-plays and case studies or perfecting their written entries and presentations. The required components of the competitive events will not change; however, the delivery will be modified for the virtual environment. Once specifics are finalized, DECA Inc. will provide orientation videos for each category of competitive events, just like we would in person.
Will DECA members still have the opportunity to earn the coveted DECA Glass?
Of course! The top three winners in DECA’s Competitive Events Program will earn the coveted DECA Glass, which will be shipped to the chapter for an appropriate local presentation. Medallions will also be sent to the chapter for those earning recognition.
