Thank You to DECA’s 2019-2020 Executive Officer Team!

Hs Team Ddo

Over the past year, DECA’s 2019-2020 Executive Officer Team worked to inspire DECA’s members and increase communication with association leaders.

From diligently planning the year at Executive Officer Training in Orlando and networking with DECA’s top leaders at the Emerging Leader Summit in San Diego to hosting the Student Video Call Series and attending dozens of regional and association conferences, the 2019-2020 DECA Executive Officer Team has made a lasting impact on our organization.

Join us in thanking them for their service as their year in office comes to an end.

D’Andre Vasquez |¬†High School Division President

Term Highlight:

Forming a DECA family! I absolutely loved getting to meet and represent our members. From the Tennesse DECA camp to my last Washington DECA association conference — and everywhere in between, members always made me feel like family! Thank you!

What’s Next:

I plan to attend Washington State University to double major in Marketing and Political Science. I then hope to launch my own marketing firm. I’m also looking forward to becoming an alumni/professional DECA member!

Dalton Green | Central Region Vice President

Term Highlight:

Being able to travel from association to association and attend their conferences was very special. Yes, the travel was a nice perk, but the reason it will be my favorite memory is that it allowed me to create lasting relationships with DECA members. It also gave me the opportunity to share my story and hopefully inspire members to become even stronger leaders.

What’s Next:

I will be attending the University of Louisville to major in Accounting and English. I plan on obtaining my CPA and then furthering my education to receive my JD and practice tax law. Throughout my time in college, I plan to stay involved with organizations such as Rotary International and CTSOs to connect and work within communities and associations.

Will Theodore | North Atlantic Region Vice President

Term Highlight:

Attending the Ultimate DECA Power Trip in Washington, D.C. I truly enjoyed being able to see the entire North Atlantic Region connected. I loved seeing the true strength of the incredible emerging leaders in our organization; it still amazes me to this day.

What’s Next:

I plan to continue my education at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia where I will be majoring in Economics and Computer Science with a double major in Political Science. I hope to stay in touch with the DECA community and maintain the connections I have made. Although the future is undoubtedly more uncertain than ever, I cannot wait to see what it holds!

Garrett Elkins | Southern Region Vice President

Term Highlight:

The Ultimate DECA Power Trip in Washington, D.C. It was an amazing experience to travel to our nation’s capital with the Executive Officer team and build relationships with several DECA associations. From informative Leadership Labs and the D.C. Night Tour to exploring Washington D.C. and hearing the powerful keynote from Dr. Laymon Hicks, it was a conference unlike any other.

What’s Next:

I plan to transfer to the University of South Carolina or Clemson University and earn my major in Accounting. I also hope to continue my collegiate athletic career with track and cross country. Upon graduation, I hope to work for an accounting firm in a large southern city, earn my CPA and eventually make partner.
