Collegiate DECA Executive Officer Online Election Process
As our primary student brand ambassadors, Collegiate DECA executive officers represent more than 5,000 student members to a variety of key stakeholders, including fellow members, advisors, education administrators, business partners, public policymakers and more. Executive officers commit to serving Collegiate DECA for the year in which they are in office. While challenging, an officer’s term also brings personal and professional growth.
This year, all election activities will now be conducted online as a response to not holding Collegiate DECA’s International Career Development Conference.

Tuesday, April 21 – Official Announcement of Qualified Candidates
On Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. EST, an official announcement of qualified candidates will be posted on decadirect.org with links to their photos, biographies, short-answer question responses, flyers and three-minute speeches. Members can also view the pre-recorded Q&A Session.
Tuesday, April 21 – Thursday, April 23 – Campaigning
Campaigning via social media and the Collegiate DECA Election Portal will take place from 8:30 a.m. EST on Tuesday, April 21 through 6:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, April 23.
Thursday, April 23 – Friday, April 24 – Voting
Voting delegates will be emailed a secure link to cast their vote for the Collegiate President and Vice Presidents.
Monday, April 27 – Winners Announced or Runoff Elections Begin
DECA Inc. will announce the winners of the election on decadirect.org at 1:00 p.m. EST, or begin runoff elections. If a runoff election is needed, the 2020-2021 Collegiate DECA Executive Officer Team will be announced by Friday, May 1.
Additional procedural activities have been communicated to chartered association advisors and officer candidates.
