ICDC 2020 Cancelation Frequently Asked Questions

Covid 19 Graphic Faq

Will DECA ICDC and Collegiate DECA ICDC 2020 be rescheduled?

Unfortunately, due to the magnitude of the conferences, the uncertainty surrounding this pandemic and the fact that many school districts, colleges and universities have closed for the indefinite future, this year’s high school and collegiate ICDCs will not be rescheduled.

Will DECA consider virtual competitive events?

With the quick timeframe and because many schools are now closed for the indefinite future, virtual events are not an option for this school year. We applaud all of our competitors who qualified to attend DECA’s ICDC and offer our sincere apologies.

What if I was a recipient of a scholarship or award that was to be presented at ICDC?

Congratulations. You worked really hard for that and should be very proud. We want you to get what you have earned and regret that we cannot present your award in person. We will send the award to your chapter advisor so he/she can make the appropriate presentation to you.

Will executive officer elections still occur?

DECA staff is exploring how to conduct the elections for the 2020-2021 executive officer teams (high school and collegiate) using an online process and platform. More information on this soon will go out to this year’s executive officer candidates and chartered association advisors once we set the new process.

What about registration refunds?

Any registration funds ($90 for high school and $130 for collegiate) already paid to DECA Inc. will be fully refunded.

What should I do about my travel arrangements?

You should work directly with your transportation provider(s) to determine their cancelation policies.

Will attendees and exhibitors get refunds for hotel costs?

High school chapter advisors should communicate with their chartered association advisors. Collegiate attendees should communicate with the Atlanta Marriott Marquis. Exhibitors should contact their hotel to determine their cancelation policies and take appropriate action as soon as possible

Will exhibitors be refunded for booth space?

DECA exhibitors should reach out to their DECA Inc. partnership representative to discuss refund and credit options.

Will exhibitors be refunded for services by Freeman?

Exhibitors should work directly with Freeman for any questions related to refunds and contracted services.
