Meet the 2020 #DECASEM Speaker Lineup

The 2020 Sports & Entertainment Marketing Conference in Orlando, FL brings DECA members inside the exciting sports marketing and entertainment marketing industries.

Industry professionals from some of Orlando’s top entertainment venues and sports teams will share their backgrounds and experiences, as well as offer tips for success to DECA members in attendance.

Ryan DeVos

Director of Magic Gaming
Orlando Magic

Entering his fourth year with the Magic, Ryan DeVos oversees all aspects of the Magic’s NBA 2K League team, Magic Gaming. DeVos’ primary responsibilities for the team include the overall management of day-to-day basketball and business operations. Prior to joining the Magic, DeVos spent two years at the NBA office in New York in the Global Marketing Partnerships group. He handled the marketing relationships for companies such as SAP, Coca-Cola and PepsiCo. DeVos volunteers his time in the community with the Magic’s various community initiatives. He also supports the Charity: Water initiative, a nonprofit organization that provides drinking water to people in developing nations, benefiting more than 8.2 million people. DeVos graduated from Rollins College with a degree in international business.


Chris D’Orso

Senior Vice President of Sales and Operations
Orlando Magic

Chris D’Orso enters his 32nd season with the Orlando Magic and was promoted to senior vice president of sales and operations in July 2012. His responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day operations of sales for the Amway Center including season, premium, suites, hospitality, partial, group and tourism sales as well as retail, and ticket operations for both the Orlando Magic and Amway Center. A mainstay in the organization since the team’s inception, D’Orso joined the Magic in 1989 as the promotions/publicity coordinator. After two seasons in that capacity, he moved into the sponsorship sales department as a corporate account manager for the next three years. In 1994, D’Orso was promoted to the assistant director of marketing position, and in 1998 was promoted to director of marketing. He served as director of ticket sales and marketing from 1999 and was promoted to vice president of marketing and sales in 2002, a position he held for seven years. In 2009, he was named vice president of sales and ticket operations and promoted to senior vice president of sales and operations in 2012. D’Orso graduated in 1988 from Fairfield University with a bachelor’s degree in communications. He actively works with the Dr. Phillips and Central Florida YMCA and the Make a Wish Foundation.


Craig Evans

Senior Director, Brand Management
Universal Orlando

A results-driven marketer with nearly 25 years of experience elevating entertainment and sports brands, Craig Evans is the Senior Director of Global Brand Management for Universal Parks and Resorts. In this role, Evans owns the development and implementation of global brand initiatives that support the short and long-term marketing strategies for all Universal Parks and Resorts locations worldwide. Prior to this role, he served as the Senior Director of Brand Management, where he led a team of marketers responsible for driving consumer demand to Universal Orlando Resort, its three theme parks, dining and nightlife complex and resort hotels. Before joining Universal Parks and Resorts, Evans held brand leadership roles at EA Sports and Microsoft Xbox. At EA Sports he focused on EA’s golf, mixed martial arts and college football franchises, while also managing key relationships with Tiger Woods, Augusta National, the PGA TOUR, the Collegiate Licensing Corporation and NCAA Football. During his tenure at Microsoft Xbox, he was a member of the original Xbox launch team in 2001 and also helped launch the Xbox 360 in 2006 before moving over to EA Sports in 2007. Evans holds an MBA from the University of Texas-Austin, an M.S. from The Johns Hopkins University and a B.B.A from Stetson University. Prior to completing his MBA, he also worked in marketing for Oracle and a mass storage startup in Winter Park, FL. Outside of work, Evans is passionate about playing tennis and golf, social media (particularly Twitter), pop culture, video games, theme parks (particularly roller coasters) and spending time with his wife and two children (only one of whom will ride roller coasters with him). Evans has been a resident of the Orlando area for more than 10 years and has no intention of living anywhere cold ever again.


Kristal Kelly

Senior Manager, Brand Marketing Communications
Universal Orlando

Kristal Kelly is a Senior Manager of Brand Communications at Universal Orlando Resort. In this role, she leads the communication strategy for the Annual Passholder program. Prior to joining Universal Orlando, she worked in account management roles at Scholastic Book Fairs, General Growth Properties and multiple advertising agencies. Kristal is a graduate of Western Michigan University with a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising. She is an active member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators working on picture books and young adult novels.


Eric Marshall

Senior Vice President, Sales Management
Universal Orlando Resort

Eric Marshall is the Senior Vice President of Sales Management at Universal Orlando Resort. He started his career in 1991 in the sports business. He spent several years as the ticket manager for Florida Citrus Sports working on college athletic events. He then moved to Atlanta and spent two years as a regional ticket manager for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. In 1998 he joined Universal as a Sports Sales Representative in the Group Sales Department. Over the last 21 years, he has held a variety of positions and responsibilities.  In his current role, he leads the Sales, Events and Trade Marketing teams for Universal Orlando. Eric is a graduate of Rollins College with a degree in history in 1991. He is active in the local community and the travel industry, currently serving on the Boards for Rollins College, Leadership Florida, and Florida Citrus Sports.


RaeLynn McAfee

Program Director, Sports Marketing & Media
Full Sail University 

RaeLynn has over 10 years of experience working in both the collegiate and professional sports world and was most recently the Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing and Promotions at UCF (University of Central Florida). During her tenure in the sports industry, she oversaw the marketing and promotional activities for multiple sports, coordinated advertising campaigns, and managed organizational brands and images. RaeLynn received a Master of Science degree in Education from Virginia Tech in 2007 and also graduated from the University of Dayton in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications.


Rick Ramsey

Director of Visual Arts
Full Sail University

Rick Ramsey currently serves as the Director of Visual Arts at Full Sail University where he oversees the Bachelor degree programs for Film and Video, Media Communications, Digital Cinematography and Creative Writing. Before coming to Full Sail, Rick served for three years as Production Manager for First Tele Productions in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Prior to that, he was the Communications Department Chair and Director of Theater at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. Active in the local arts community, Rick currently serves as a board member for the Enzian Theater and is an active part of the Florida Film festival planning committee. Rick earned his Master of Arts degree in Mass Communication from the University of South Florida. His latest achievements include serving as line producer for the production of To Write Love on Her Arms starring Kat Dennings and Chad Michael Murray, line producer for the situation comedy Real Rob starring Rob Schneider, and as producer for Architects of Hip Hop with Christopher “Play” Martin from the rap duo Kid and Play and most recently as liaison producer for National Geographic’s new drama series The Right Stuff set to air in 2020.


Jen Rother

Vice President, Strategy and International Brand Management
Universal Orlando Resort

Jen Rother is the Vice President of Strategy and International Brand Management at Universal Orlando Resort. In her current role, she leverages an understanding of the business, the market and the industry to develop insightful analyses to identify strategic growth opportunities. Before joining the Universal Orlando team, she previously worked in marketing at The Walt Disney Company, Movado Group, General Mills, and Ray-Ban. Jen holds a certificate in Business Analytics from Harvard University, an MBA from Duke University and a BS in Communications from Rochester Institute of Technology. She enjoys training, competing, and traveling with her dog, Mayhem. Together they volunteer as a therapy team at local hospitals and serve as a community crisis response team.
