Collegiate DECA Recognition Awards Now Available
As the second half of the school year begins, it’s time to reflect on the effort your chapter has put into service projects, fundraising, recruiting and organizing in the past months. Recognize your chapter’s exceptional members and achievements by nominating them for one of the Collegiate DECA recognition awards!
Deadlines are fast approaching so please review the guidelines below and submit your applications no later than February 15, 2020.
This award recognizes collegiate DECA members for their academic excellence, leadership and involvement in Collegiate DECA. To receive this award, students must be a Collegiate DECA Inc. member, have completed a minimum of 12 academic semester hours or the equivalent, with an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.5 and participate in at least three of the areas listed under each of the three major categories (Collegiate DECA activities, leadership and community/school activities).
The Community Service Award is designed to recognize Collegiate DECA chapters for civic activities and service performed in their communities. Students will submit each community service project as an article for www.decadirect.org with a minimum of 400 words.
This award recognizes Collegiate DECA members for their leadership on their campus and with their chapter. Students nominated can be elected officers but it is not a requirement. Each campus may nominate up to two student members for this award.
In addition to association recognition, award recipients will be announced on DECA Direct and recognized with a special ribbon at the 2020 International Career Development Conference. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to highlight your hard work!
