Make an IMPACT in Your Chartered Association

DECA Chartered Association Officer Teams: It’s that time of the year again! Submissions for the 2019-2020 Impact Program are now being accepted. Will it be your chartered association that wins one of the greatest impact awards this year? Or is your region going for it all and aiming for the Diamond Impact award? We can’t wait to see each of the submissions and hope that each chartered association team takes advantage of this awesome opportunity to make an impact!

Start planning your entries for one of the five categories:

Every year, associations engage in events with local policymakers, school officials, business representatives and a variety of other professional leaders to advocate on behalf of DECA and Career and Technical Education. Share advocacy efforts your association and your local chapters have made this year.

Being community-oriented is a guiding principle of DECA. Highlight your association and local chapter’s participation in community service through this category.

DECA is a valuable asset to high school students who strive to be academically prepared, community-oriented, professionally responsible and experienced leaders. Inform the organization of the different strategies your association has made to grow your membership.

DECA’s National Advisory Board (NAB) partners include corporations, foundations and associations that seek to support the development of leaders and entrepreneurs who may become their companies’ employees. Put the spotlight on how your association worked with DECA’s corporate partners this year. Visit for the complete list of NAB sponsors.

Innovative association plans are pivotal in the preparation of emerging leaders and entrepreneurs. In this category, showcase a unique program that has catalyzed impact in your association. This category, though, will only welcome submissions that do not fall under any of the above categories.

When working on your submission, keep in mind these important requirements:

  1. Each chartered association is limited to one submission per category.
  2. Each video entry must be between 1:30-2:00 minutes in duration.
  3. All submissions are due by April 3, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
  4. All video and poster entries will be evaluated by the President’s Council for scoring (Presidents will not be able to score their own association’s submission).
  5. Winning posters and videos will be featured on
