Advisor Resources for Later Haters Challenge
DECA and AT&T encourage you to ‘Stop the Hate and Spread the Love’ through the Later Haters Challenge.
DECA has teamed up with AT&T to empower teens to rise above online negativity through the Later Haters Challenge. Help to raise awareness of cyberbullying and promote positive behavior by participating in one of two DECA Later Haters Challenges.
Teams, which may include one to three DECA members, are encouraged to take part in the challenge to promote the Later Haters message. Each team must:
- Complete an online lesson (Use the Facilitator’s Guide for additional support)
- Take the pledge
- Create a public service announcement (PSA)
- Execute a Later Haters promotional event
Complete details and student resources are available on the DECA website. Students who participate in the AT&T Later Haters Challenge and submit their entry will be considered for an ICDC travel stipend. The challenge submission deadline is January 31, 2020.
Chartered Association Level
This challenge is designed to drive awareness and prevent cyberbullying. DECA members may help their chartered association receive recognition at ICDC by obtaining the highest pledge count within their group designation which is based on membership size. Pledges may be collected from friends, fellow students, parents, and other community members. Have you taken the pledge yet? Pledges will be recorded and credited toward the designated chartered association until March 27, 2020.
