Make the Most of #CTEMonth
Career and Technical Education Month®, or CTE Month®, is a public awareness campaign that takes place each February to celebrate the value of CTE and the achievements and accomplishments of CTE programs across the country.
1. Get Social
Use #CTEMonth to share success stories from your chapter. Follow ACTE on Twitter and be on the lookout each day as they celebrate
#28daysofCTE. They will highlight CTE programs, announcements, and all of the incredible things you do! Want to participate? Submit content to firstname.lastname@example.org by Feb. 8.
Participate in the #CTSOChat on Twitter on Tuesday, February 19 at 5pm EST.
2. Host a School Visit
This CTE Month, one of the best things you can do to celebrate the accomplishments of your students is to hold a school visit or site visit. For this visit, you can invite policymakers, business leaders, members of the media, or other members of your local community to visit your programs and discover the 21st century learning that happens in CTE classrooms every day. By organizing a visit, you can raise awareness of CTE and advance public understanding of the opportunities that CTE offers for students. Check out ACTE Online for more resources.
3. Reach Out to Local Businesses
Businesses stand to gain a great deal from strong CTE programs, as these programs provide students with the education and work-based learning they need to equip themselves with the skills necessary to enter the workforce. However, many businesses are unaware of the specific benefits of career and technical education. By reaching out to them, you may create valuable partnerships that allow you to achieve your own goals. More resources and ideas are available here.
