Stallion Support is the Sweetest Victory

Vera Woodson | South County DECA

Students supporting teachers who support students is the education cycle celebrated at South County High School. The Cupcake Love outreach campaign in Mrs. Woodson’s Advanced Marketing class provided an opportunity for DECA students and teachers to highlight and share their appreciation for the support each group receives from the other.

With school climate across America shaping our current dialog, the DECA Stallions cut through the conversation by offering a gesture of sweetness. These weren’t just ordinary cupcakes – these were symbols of joy, encouragement and appreciation for the wonderful service our teachers provide, and the appreciation our students extend to our teachers.

The cycle was made whole when the students hung the “Teachers are the Sweetest” banner and filled it with blank sticky notes and invited teachers to enter the room filled with over 200 cupcakes. The teachers filled the sticky notes with messages of support, and the students were able to receive the messages of care and encouragement for a job well done.

At South County, we care about our teachers, and in return they care about our students. We may not be able to solve all of the problems of society, but for a day filled with cupcakes it was possibly the sweetest victory!
