Finance Industry Insights Straight from Wall Street

With the month of November coming to an end, let’s take some time to look back on the 2017 Collegiate DECA’s ENGAGE conference and the experiences attendees had.

The Finance & Accounting Track had the opportunity to explore New York City and Wall Street with new friends from across North America, as well as DECA NAB partner, the Vanguard Group.

The conference began with a networking session, where students had the opportunity to speak with each other and representatives from Vanguard. The Vanguard representatives came for conversations about the company, the industry and to inform students of recruitment opportunities within the company.

Additionally, members had the chance to speak to Vanguard about the case they would be working on throughout the conference, and tailor their answers to fit the company’s current opportunities.

On Friday, industry tours began. Where else would the Finance & Accounting Track go other than Wall Street? After taking the subway down to Wall Street, members had the opportunity to learn the history of finance at the Museum of American Finance.

After learning about the highs and the lows of America’s finance history delegates listened to critical analysis of the current bull market from investment experts at the SIFMA Foundation’s office.

After learning more about the industry, delegates had the opportunity to finalize their case answers for presentations the next morning.

We thank Vanguard, and the team at SIFMA, who helped craft our ENGAGE experience.
