What Really Goes Down at a #DECAAfterDark Event

Imagine a world where you and everyone in it has something in common. A world where nobody cared about being professional and just wanted to let loose. Well what if I tell you that I got to experience that world for two hours during this year’s DECA After Dark event at the 2017 #DECAPowerTrip.
The first thing that caught my eye when I walked into the DECA private party at Lucky Strike Philadelphia was the massive pile of boxes of pizza. Since all the food that night was free, I grabbed a box…or two. The atmosphere was unimaginably upbeat and the fun truly was #Limitless.
Bowling wasn’t really my favorite sport, but getting to bowl with such an epic state (New York) made the DECA After Dark experience even more extraordinary! This was such a great experience for first year DECA members, because they can really understand what it feels to be part of not only DECA but an amazing family.
Also this was such a great opportunity to network with other DECA members. I got to meet members from New York, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Texas, and more association. One of the highlights of DECA After Dark was getting to meet DECA high school division president, Jaron May, who let loose on the dance floor (Don’t ever underestimate @DECA_Jaron’s moves).

Overall, the DECA After Dark experience was amazing, and if you ever get a chance to go or do something like this, I definitely recommend it.
