Introducing the Newest DECA Virtual Business Challenge Track

As DECA advisors and members begin thinking about the latest DECA Virtual Business Challenge (VBC), which will begin registration on October 10, 2017, DECA is excited to announce a new VBC track this year – Virtual Business (VB) Fashion.

VB Fashion, the latest business sim from Knowledge Matters, launched at the end of 2016. The response to VB Fashion from teachers and students has been great, and now the latest DECA VBC will allow students to compete with VB Fashion.

The VB Fashion track of the DECA VBC will encourage DECA members to test their skills at managing a simulated fashion business. Participants will conduct trend research, design garments, promote via social media, select retail locations, and more. For each round, teams will be ranked based on their fashion business’ highest cumulative profit after running the simulation for one virtual year.

“We’re very happy with the response thus far to VB Fashion, our latest sim, and we’re excited to be adding VB Fashion to this year’s DECA VBC,” said Peter Jordan, President and CEO of Knowledge Matters. “We think students will enjoy the challenge of running a profitable fashion business and learning the underlying business principles that drive the fashion business – pricing, product, retail location, marketing, etc.”

VB Fashion was created in partnership with the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles.

Stay tuned to for more VBC announcements and don’t forget to register on October 10.
