Rochester Adams Rocks DECA Month
DECA Month is a highly regarded celebration at Rochester Adams High School (Mich.), with fun activities planning to promote DECA throughout all of November.
Here’s a look at some of the activities we’ve held so far this month to help our members bond with one another, and get the entire school involved with celebrating DECA:
Through the week of October 31 – November 4, Adams DECA had different spirit days that consisted of a specific dress-wear, which gives members a chance to connect over fun, crazy, and outright awesome clothes!
Monday | Halloween Costume Day: In honor of the spooky celebration on the 31, DECA members were encouraged to wear interesting and unique costumes that stood out in the crowd.
Tuesday | PJ Day: For those members that hate getting up and changing, PJ Day gave members a chance to come to school in comfortable pajamas!
Wednesday | Dress for Success Day: This is a unique day for members to get out their professional outfits and prepare for the anticipated competitions that take place later in the year.
Thursday | Monochromatic Day: As the title illustrates, Monochromatic Day is loved by everyone, as members can rock out with their favorite one-colored outfits.
Friday | DECA T-Shirt Day: A great way to end the week, DECA members were encouraged to wear their most unique DECA t-shirt throughout the day to represent our chapter!
Middle School Trip
Adams DECA always looks forward to reaching out to younger students who can potential join our chapter one day. During the middle of DECA Week, a few of our chapter’s representatives took a trip to a nearby middle school to teach incoming high school students about DECA and inspire them to join. This helps recruit new students, and grows the family that DECA creates.
Coin Wars is a fun way to earn money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). These funds help a child with any type of muscular disorder to go to a fun-filled, week-long camp where they can enjoy being a kid again while getting the help and protection they need. Coin Wars is a grade-level competition for one whole week, so it’s always an exciting battle to see which grade-level will be victorious!
Miracle Minute occurs at some point during DECA Month. A bucket is placed in each classroom of the school, and at the end of the day, one minute is saved for each student to donate as much money as they can. The class with the most money at the end of the minute earns a special prize for the whole class. All of the proceeds go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Rochester Adams High School loves to represent its amazing organization every year, and hopefully your school does too! Enjoy the rest of #DECAMonth!
