#DECAMonth Ideas for Your Campus
Halloween is right around the corner and we all know what happens as the clock strikes midnight on the 31st – DECA MONTH starts!
DECA Month happens each year during November, and is all about celebrating DECA. Not only is it a great time to bond with your current chapter members, but also allows for opportunities to introduce it to potential members on your campus as well.
Here some ideas on how you can make this year’s DECA Month the best one ever:
1. Participate in the DECA Idea Challenge.
All DECA members and non-members are encouraged to participate in the DECA Idea Challenge 2016, during Global Entrepreneurship Week. The mystery item will be announced on November 10, and you’ll need to work in a team to create a new use for this everyday item. Not only is this a fun and creative activity for your chapter to do, but being a DECA members isn’t a requirement to participate, so open it up to all students at your school and see how many new members you can recruit by the time your project is done. Learn more about Idea Challenge 2016 here.
2. Participate in the DECA Month Photo Challenge.
Every November, DECA Inc. release its #DECAMonth Photo Challenge – each day of the month has a special theme and we challenge you to post a photo for each theme every day! Be sure to use #DECAMonth in all your posts, and tag either @DECAInc or @CollegiateDECA in your posts. This is a great way to show what makes your chapter special, give a shout out to your officers, members and business partners, and is a great recruitment tool to share with potential members too. Keep checking decadirect.org for more information about this year’s photo challenge.
3. Have a DECA Day on your campus.
Get t-shirts made, bring pizza to your meeting or throw an awesome ice cream sundae party. It doesn’t matter how you celebrate, it’s just important that you take time during #DECAMonth to get together as a chapter and do something fun! Get your faculty and staff to participate and invite new students as well. Be sure to share photos of your celebration with @DECAInc on Twitter and Instagram and @CollegiateDECA on Twitter.
Lastly, no matter what you do, don’t forget to post all your DECA Month photos and activities on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram using #DECAMonth!
