Own Your Year with DECA’s Chapter Campaigns

Looking for the best way to help your chapter OWN this school year? Why not complete DECA’s Chapter Campaigns?

sarah_williamsDECA offers five unique campaigns that will help your chapter grow and build lasting partnerships within your school and community.

Engage your members through participating in the Membership, Community Service, Promotional, Global Entrepreneurship and Advocacy Campaigns.

MEMBERSHIP CAMPAIGN

Continued growth is one of the keys to success. This year’s Membership Campaign encourages growth in three categories:

  1. Register 20 more student members than last year
  2. Register 20 alumni members
  3. Register 20 professional member

Alumni members can be anyone who was a DECA member in high school or college. They do not have to be from your chapter. Professional members can be administrators, teachers, parents and business partners.

To be recognized as an Achievement Level Chapter for this campaign your chapter must complete one of the three categories.

To be recognized as a Thrive Level Chapter for this campaign, your chapter must complete at least two of the three categories. Thrive Level Chapters receive three allocations to the Thrive Academy at the 2017 International Career Development Conference in Anaheim, Calif., pending approval from your Chartered Association Advisor.

To qualify for this campaign all membership must be registered through the online membership system. Due date for submission is December 1, 2016.


ADVOCACY CAMPAIGN

This campaign takes place in February, during Career and Technical Education Month.

Completing all of the elements below will get your chapter recognized for this campaign:

  1. Execute three school outreach activities.
  2. Reach out to three public policy makers about DECA/CTE.
  3. Execute three community outreach activities.

Chapters who complete this campaign can request to have letters of recognition sent out to recognize your chapter’s advocacy efforts.

A school outreach activity is one that targets the students and adults inside of your school. A community outreach activity is one that targets those outside of your school.

Submit your Advocacy Campaign by March 1, 2017.


To be recognized as an Achievement Level Chapter your chapter must complete one of the three chapter campaigns below.

To be recognized as a Thrive Level Chapter, your chapter must complete at least two of the three chapter campaigns below. Thrive Level Chapters receive three allocations to the Thrive Academy at the 2017 International Career Development Conference in Anaheim, Calif., pending approval from your Chartered Association Advisor.

COMMUNITY SERVICE CAMPAIGN

Get recognized for your unique ways to serve your community. To complete this campaign, chapters must complete all three of the following elements:

  1. Hold one or more community service activities.
  2. Have 75% member participation in the community service activity.
  3. Have one or more forms of publicity or promotion.

Submit your Community Service Campaign by December 1, 2016.

GLOBAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP WEEK CAMPAIGN

Celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week by completing this campaign! To complete this campaign, chapters must complete all three of the following elements:

  1. Submit three Idea Challenge
  2. Collect three success stories from alumni entrepreneurs.
  3. Hold three school or community outreach activities.

A school outreach activity is one that targets the students and adults inside of your school. A community outreach activity is one that targets those outside of your school.

Submit your Global Entrepreneurship Week Campaign by December 1, 2016.

PROMOTIONAL CAMPAIGN

Share how your chapter takes the opportunity to promote DECA within your school and community. To complete this campaign, chapters must complete all three of the following elements:

  1. Participate in three school outreach activities.
  2. Collect three alumni success stories.
  3. Participate in three community outreach activities.

A school outreach activity is one that targets the students and adults inside of your school. A community outreach activity is one that targets those outside of your school.

Submit your Promotional Campaign by December 1, 2016.
