Georgia DECA Certified Trainers Ignite Chapter Advisors for the New School Year
DECA’s Train the Trainer certification course equips key chartered association leaders to assist local chapter advisors to use DECA as a powerful experiential learning resource.
This past July, certified trainers Shannon Aaron, Christina Bailey, Shayna Brown and Tom Schwarz of Georgia DECA hosted their first professional development workshop, WorkWinWow, with over 76 DECA chapter advisors in attendance!
Attendees received training on topics such as enhancing their chapter communications strategies, leveraging their DECA network, fostering classroom learning with DECA’s competitive events and more.
Georgia DECA certified trainers not only facilitated the event, but enjoyed interacting with advisors as they engaged in activities during the workshop.
Six Certificate of Participation Hours, custom Georgia DECA classroom tools and official DECA advisor name badges were given to attendees.
“Little incentives like this just show our appreciation for advisors giving their time, sharing their ideas and developing new strategies for implementing DECA in their home schools,” certified trainer Christina Bailey said.
Chartered association advisor Shannon Aaron noted that, “it was a lot to cover in one day, but we did it. Advisors loved it!”
Georgia DECA is excited about resources advisors received as a result of the professional development.
Outside of the training content, advisors loved the networking and collaborating with peers in their association. As a result of the training, advisors left motivated to make this school year one of the best!
