As a generation of tweeters, Snapchatters, and Instagram-ers, it seems today’s students are never disconnected. With graduation and summertime just around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about finding a way to stay connected to DECA after high school and college.

Seems like a daunting task, right? Luckily, LinkedIn makes connecting to DECA and business professionals as easy as sharing a tweet!

So what exactly is LinkedIn? LinkedIn is a networking service for professionals; essentially, it’s the professional version of Facebook. You can build your network of business connections, upload your professional profile, create your online résumé and connect with DECA alumni and members from around the world.

To most high school students, the idea of managing another social media account is exhausting. So why should you join LinkedIn?

Additionally, you should always list your DECA membership and experience in your LinkedIn profile. This not only helps you when potential employers are checking out your profile, but will keep you engaged with the DECA community as well.
