Introducing the 2016 SBE Academy Keynote Speaker and Workshop Leader, Sam Davidson

Gold Certified School-based Enterprises attending the SBE Academy at DECA’s International Career Development Conference in Nashville, Tenn., this April will have the opportunity to learn from seasoned entrepreneur, author, and speaker, Sam Davidson.

Sam Davidson founded Cool People Care, a media and merchandise company that has leveraged new technology to connect thousands of individuals to causes and nonprofits in local communities.

Cool People Care’s line of eco-friendly and cause-related merchandise has raised over $125,000 for causes ranging from disaster relief to hunger awareness.

Davidson has since gone on to co-found three additional companies, the most recent of which is Batch, a gift and retail company that connects entrepreneurs with new customers by providing artisan items from iconic Southern cities. With a robust online retail operation, as well as its flagship store located inside the Nashville Farmers Market, Batch offers personal and corporate gifts year round in a way that is unique, memorable, and easy. In 2015, Batch was the recipient of a NEXT award from the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce.

Davidson is the author of three books: New Day Revolution, 50 Things Your Life Doesn’t Need, and Simplify Your Life. He frequently speaks on topics such as leadership, social entrepreneurship, and community service to audiences at colleges and conferences around the United States. He has been quoted in publications and media outlets such as USA Today, NPR, Inc. Magazine, and The New York Times and was named a most admired CEO by the Nashville Business Journal.

Through his energetic keynote speech and interactive workshop session, students will:

  • learn the difference between a growing business and a thriving one
  • understand the four steps needed to develop a thriving SBE
  • develop a strategic action plan for their SBE

Members attending the SBE Academy will be inspired and motivated to dream big about their SBEs, not just to increase their size, but also their capability for excellence.
