How’s Your Passport Program Looking?

Are you getting excited for the 2016 Collegiate DECA International Career Development Conference? I certainly am!

The Chapter Leadership Passport is due March 1. If completed, you and your chapter will be internationally recognized on stage during the #DECAinDC opening session for your Passport Program achievements.

Competition can be challenging, but this is your unique chance to get your chapter the publicity it deserves! Don’t let this opportunity pass your or your chapter by.

At this point in the year you should be finishing up the required elements for all three levels and working on the awards elements.

I encourage you all to #beDECAepic this year and go for the Presidential Level. To receive the Presidential Award, you must compete 5 activities from each of the following categories:

  • Competence
  • Innovation
  • Integrity
  • Teamwork

In addition you must write an article about 3 of the activities in the required elements section.

Here are a few way to complete your five teamwork activities:

  1. Host an “invite-a-friend” meeting (have 50% of your members bringing a guest) and ask a local business professional to speak to chapter about careers. You can combine both of these elements into one event!
  2. Host a campus-wide social event on your campus, and promote Collegiate DECA.
  3. Advertise your chapter at a campus-wide Student Organization Fair or similar event.
  4. Create a workshop or PowerPoint that demonstrates excellence in your chapter/association. For example: recruiting, fundraising, grant writing, marketing, etc.

If you have questions about the Passport Program, don’t hesitate to reach out to your Collegiate DECA executive officers.

We love to hear what each chapter is up to and what makes each of you EPIC.
