2015-2016 FIDM Challenge Details Announced

FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising has announced the 6th annual FIDM Challenge.

The fashion college is calling entrants to submit trend forecasting videos for their chance to be awarded a travel stipend to attend DECA’s International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Nashville, Tenn., April 23-26, 2016.

DECA members in teams of up to three are called to make a presentation to FIDM executives and instructors via a video posted on YouTube, forecasting a fashion trend for Fall/Winter 2016/2017.

The grand prize winning team will be awarded a travel stipend to attend DECA’s ICDC where the winning trend/look will be shown. The top three teams will be recognized on stage at a general session.

Last year's winning team included Kyley Lockwood, Erica Gorman and Rita Sorokina of Castro Valley High School. They conducted research at the FIDM Library on the San Francisco campus, referencing color reports, trend forecasting publications, and historical issues of Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. Interested chapters must fully complete and submit the FIDM Challenge 2016 Registration Form and upload their YouTube videos no later than February 5, 2016, to be eligible for awards.
