JWU Awards Scholarships to DECA Members at 2015 ICDC

Johnson & Wales University awarded 125 DECA members scholarships to attend any of its four campuses and honored these members during a scholarship breakfast at DECA’s 2015 International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Fla.

Helping students understand the connection between a college degree and career success is a primary goal of DECA’s Comprehensive Learning Program and helping students obtain a college degree is a shared goal of DECA’s Scholarship Program and its college partners.

JWU scholarships range from $1,000 up to full tuition and are renewable for up to four years. Last year, the JWU awarded more than $9 million in scholarships and tuition credits to members of DECA.

In addition to student scholarships, JWU supports the following #DECAICDC activities:

  • Participates in DECA’s Executive Mentor Program
  • Exhibits at #DECAICDC
  • Provides professional development scholarships to DECA advisors
  • Provides judges for DECA’s competitive events

One of DECA’s most important college partners, JWU has served on DECA’s National Advisory Board since 1981. Together, JWU and DECA have worked to:

  • Prepare DECA’s members for college and career success
  • Prepare the next generation’s workforce in hospitality and business
