Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) Invites You to Connect at ICDC 2015
In its 35th year as a DECA partner, the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) is thrilled to participate in DECA's 2015 International Career Development Conference (ICDC) this month!
At this year’s opening ceremony, DECA ICDC members will get an exclusive look at FIDM’s renowned DEBUT Runway Show!
Enjoy watching FIDM student-designed fashion collections modeled on stage, which were unveiled last month in Santa Monica, Calif. Every year the FIDM DEBUT Runway Show attracts nearly 10,000 people over three days and features designs by graduating students in FIDM's Fashion Design and Theatre Costume Design Advanced Study programs, as well as work from Interior Design, Digital Media, and Textile Design students.
You'll also be able to meet the winners of the DECA/FIDM Runway Challenge at #DECAICDC! Kyley Lockwood, Erica Gorman and Rita Sorokina of Castro Valley High School’s DECA Chapter (Castro Valley, Calif.) will be welcomed on stage during the closing ceremonies as the first place winners of our annual DECA/FIDM Runway Challenge.
Participants in the FIDM Challenge translated a seasonal fashion trend into a "look" depicting the researched fashion forecast, presented via short films that were uploaded to YouTube. Read more here about this year’s challenge and watch videos created by the Castro Valley High School students mentioned above, as well as videos by this year’s second and third place winners.
Ready to flex your marketing muscle? FIDM is sponsoring the Fashion Merchandising Promotion Plan ICDC competition. The winning DECA students who develop and present a seasonal sales promotion plan will be honored during the ICDC closing ceremonies.
