5 Secret Tips to Ace Your Marketing Case
Completing a marketing case can be tricky because there is so much to know. That’s why I’m giving you my top five secret tips that will wow your judges!
- 80/20 Rule
My first and favorite tip is the 80/20 rule. The 80/20 rule is extremely simple and works for any situation. Just remember, “80% of your sales, comes from 20% of your customer.” Now what does this mean? It means that you need to show the judge that you plan to find those 20% and give them a loyalty program or special target marketing in order to keep up those sales!
- SWOT Analysis
First, at the beginning of the case I create the company’s personalized SWOT analysis.
This shows that I have a great understanding of the company we are dealing with, as well as my plan for the case at hand!
- Face of the Business
Then, I make sure to talk about the face of my business. I talk about how making emotionally connecting advertisements, and giving great customer service, is important in order to show customers that they aren’t dealing with a corporation, but real-life people that care about the customer’s needs!
- Rule of Continuity
Next, we have the rule of continuity. This rule simple states that, “People love working towards something.” Whether it’s a stamp based rewards system, or a points program, consumers cannot help but keep buying once they get rewards.
- Contingency Report
Finally, the contingency report is your “Plan B.” At the end of your summary, you should say that after a couple months the company will review the results and make changes such as lowering prices, or finding a new target market. Prepare to WOW the judges with your initiative by showing them that you’ve thought of it all!
