NAB Partnerships Committee Selects Marquee Targets

DECA's National Advisory Board (NAB) Partnerships Committee held its first meeting on Friday, October 3, 2014. One of the five committees created by the NAB Executive Committee, this group is focused on helping DECA expand the NAB, especially with brands that both support DECA's programming and resonate with DECA members.

On Friday’s call, the committee members and committee co-chairs, Roger Glenn from Gordmans and Stephanie Wissink from Piper Jaffray, discussed a broad list of “marquee” targets that DECA staff had identified for their consideration.

After a good dialogue, the committee selected four primary targets: Chipotle, McDonald’s, PepsiCo/Frito Lay and Starbucks. The next step is for the committee members to reach out to the identified targets and schedule in-person meetings or phone calls.  

While the NAB has always been supportive of DECA’s development efforts, this is the first time that members have been formally engaged with the target identification, outreach and onboarding process.
