NRF Hosts DECA’s 2014 NAB Executive Committee Meeting

The National Retail Federation (NRF) hosted DECA's National Advisory Board Executive Committee meeting on June 26, 2014, at the NRF headquarters in Washington, D.C.

The meeting marked NRF's return to the executive committee, and their CEO conference room was a fitting location for the leadership group.

The meeting agenda was marked by transition as outgoing DECA Inc. Board of Directors President Jim Brock gave his final report to the committee, incoming executive director, Paul Wardinski, officially took responsibility of the NAB relationship and the committee adopted a new operational plan for moving forward.

While the agenda looked forward, the members also took a moment to reflect on the long term success of DECA's partnership relationships. Executive Committee Chair, Roger Glenn, senior vice president of human relations for Gordmans, invited those in attendance to share their memories of working with retiring DECA Inc. executive director, Ed Davis. The comments reflected the personal and professional impact Ed has left on the organization and those involved with DECA.

All agreed that the plans for building the organization are very exciting and DECA has much growth and opportunity to look forward to.
