Chapter Campaigns to Engage All Members
Want to know the secret to engaging all your members, your community and your stakeholders? DECA’s annual chapter campaigns!
DECA offers five unique campaigns that will help you grow your chapter and build lasting partnerships within your school and community.
Kick-start your year by getting started on the Membership Campaign, Promotional Campaign and Community Service Campaign.
Just like any business, continued growth is one of the keys to success. This campaign provides flexibility in which areas your chapter sets goals for growth. To be recognized for completing this campaign your chapter must register 20 more student members than last year or 20 alumni members or 20 professional members. If your chapter’s goal is to earn the ultimate reward of three allocations to attend the THRIVE Academy at the 2015 International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Fla., then be sure to register 20 or more members in at least two of the three categories (student, alumni, professional). Alumni members can be anyone who was a DECA member in high school or college. They do not have to be from your chapter. Professional members can be administrators, teachers, parents and business partners. Due date for submission is December 1, 2014.
Completing two of the three following chapter campaigns can earn your chapter three allocations to the THRIVE Academy at ICDC in Orlando, Fla.
This campaign provides chapter members an opportunity to share with their school and community what DECA is all about and how their chapter is making a positive impact on its members and community. Conduct three school outreach activities, three community outreach activities and share three alumni success stories to complete this campaign. Be sure to submit your information online by December 1, 2014.
COMMUNITY SERVICE CAMPAIGN
DECA members are always finding unique ways to serve their community. Get recognized for your efforts through this campaign. It’s easy. Simply document one or more community service activities, be sure to have at least 75% of your members involved, and create at least one form of publicity or promotion. Finally, be sure to submit your information online by December 1, 2014.
GLOBAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP CAMPAIGN
Celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week November 17-23, 2014 by completing this campaign. During the week of November 17-23, submit three DECA Idea Challenge entries and conduct three school or community outreach activities. Then, by December 1, simply submit your information along with three alumni success stories.
This campaign takes place in February 2015 during Career and Technical Education Month. Completing three school outreach activities, three public policymaker outreach activities and three community outreach activities will get your chapter recognized for this campaign. And your community will definitely know you are advocates of DECA and Career and Technical Education! Submit your Advocacy Campaign activities by March 2, 2015.
There’s something for all chapters in each of the five chapter campaigns. Go for one or strive for all five! Just don’t wait to get started.
