DECA After Dark Costume Contest Winners

To wrap up an exciting day of competition, workshops and of course, Johnny Cupcakes, DECA put together an amazing experience for all the Power Trip attendees: #DECAAfterDark.

Normally as DECA members, we are on DECA time, but at the Ultimate DECA Power Trip, we celebrated Halloween a little late with the DECA After Dark Costume Contest. Over 1,000 members from the Southern and North Atlantic Region dressed up in a variety of creative costumes including Scooby Doo and the gang, a rainbow, the Jabawokeez and Disney characters.

Members were encouraged to post their costume photos on the DECA Facebook page and participate in the online voting contest for a variety of costume categories. There were 26 submissions posted and 941 votes cast from all over Saturday night.

In the end, six winners were announced at the DECA Power Trip closing session Sunday morning.

The creativity and innovation was evident throughout the ballroom as DECA members continued to fill the room with their ingenious costumes. To make the evening even more memorable, master hypnotist Pete Mamos wowed the crowd as he hypnotized 16 DECA members, including North Atlantic Region Vice President, Lexy Parsons, and Southern Region Vice President, Jack Fenton.

Overall, there was no better way to end an already action-packed day at #DECAPowerTrip and this night will go down as DECA’s most creative evening session yet.
