Take Your DECA Experience Global

People to People Ambassador programs have helped DECA members expand their learning and discover new cultures for years. DECA is proud to announce that two brand new programs have been set for the summer of 2014 to Costa Rica and the United Kingdom.

Costa Rica

Explore Costa Rica, one of the most stunning and ecologically diverse countries in South America. This is your opportunity to grow as a leader and learn all about hospitality, how ‘Going Green’ is changing the marketing direction of a country, and how preserving the biodiversity of an ecosystem can be profitable. Along the way you will be surrounded by the rainforest with its local flora and fauna including sloths, howler monkeys and toucans.

Part of becoming a leader is stepping outside your comfort zone and taking a step forward. A great test is getting over your fear of heights as you strap in with Sky Trek, a series of zip lines soaring 500 feet above the rainforest canopy. Leadership is earned as you help protect the rainforest as you learn about and care for sloths, monkeys and a variety of other animals needing help before being released back into the wild. In just a few days you will see and do more than most people dream about.

United Kingdom

London has been known as the financial capital of the world. It is home to significant banks, businesses, and stock exchanges. Take on this global classroom perspective and learn from the world’s leading experts. Meet the CEO of the organization responsible for corporate hospitality at the 2012 London Olympics or have discussions with a former MP and Cabinet Minister on the British Parliamentary process and role of the monarchy.

You can also go behind the scenes to learn about movie production at the Warner Brothers Studios in London. Meet with students studying business at one of the top level universities in the world as you explore Kings College in Cambridge. From the courts at Wimbledon, on stage in the West End, or having private sessions at the Bank of England, you will be amazed at the special access you will have on this experience of a lifetime.
