Three Recognized with Outstanding Service Award
Congratulations to three recipients of DECA’s Outstanding Service Award, one of DECA’s most prestigious recognitions, presented at this year’s International Career Development Conference in Anaheim, Calif. This year, DECA is honored to recognize an association advisor, a chapter advisor and a strategic partner.
Arkansas DECA Association Advisor Jim Brock is recognized for his leadership in DECA as a two-term member of the DECA Inc. Board of Directors.
After his upcoming term, he will have served twice as president. Brock has also been active on the Southern Region Council and hosted the 2011 Southern Region Leadership Conference.
For the past 33 years, Anthony Fortuna (Pa.) has impacted thousands of DECA members as a chapter advisor.
In addition, Fortuna has served as a series director at ICDC and has assisted in training new chapter advisors at the New Advisor Academy at ICDC.
Tom Gauthier of Johnson and Wales University (R.I.) has been a strong supporter of DECA for the past 10 years, focusing on providing DECA member and advisor scholarships and professional development opportunities for DECA advisors.
Gauthier has worked to develop innovative partnerships between Johnson and Wales University and DECA, such as the Chapter Advisor Summer Institutes and conference workshops and activities.
