THRIVE in Style

The 52nd Annual International Career Development Conference kicked off to a fashionable start this year with a high-energy fashion show sponsored by the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM). From snowboarding gear to inaugural gowns, the FIDM fashion show was clearly a unique feature of opening session.

A FIDM alumna designed the show to focus on California’s active lifestyle and her collection of snowboarding gear featured a pop of color or design to stand out from the crowd on the snow covered hills.

Up next was another FIDM graduate showcasing her collection of several stunning inaugural gowns. Each gown was elegant with an element of fun. You could hear the audience roar with approval for dresses they loved.

Many members loved the show and their tweets reflected it:

@TucsonHighDECA: Loving the @FIDM Fashion Show so far at #DECAICDC!

@misskfrakes: I am actually really excited for the opening ceremony, @FIDM is hosting a fashion show #futureschool #decaicdc

If you would like to learn more about FIDM, get photos with the snowboards from Wednesday night’s show and meet real FIDM students and teachers, visit FIDM at booth #301 in the exhibit hall of the Anaheim Convention Center.
