Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) Invites DECA Students to Connect at ICDC

FIDM is thrilled to participate in DECA's International Career Development Conference (ICDC) this week!

During last night's Grand Opening Session, you saw dazzling gowns designed for this year’s Presidential Inaugural luncheon sponsored by the California State Society in Washington, DC, as well as cutting edge Signal Snowboards designed by FIDM Graphic Design Students.

For those at ICDC this week, stop by the FIDM booth to participate in the DECA photo scavenger hunt at the FIDM/DECA step-and-repeat! You can also connect with FIDM at a Digital Storytelling Workshop led by FIDM Digital Media Director Gene Lebrock on Thursday. Cotton University will also be exhibiting in partnership with FIDM to share their new venture (great for instructors).

FIDM invites anyone attending ICDC to send your photos and comments to @FIDM on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook using the hashtag  #FIDMatDECA.

In addition to connecting at ICDC, FIDM also invites DECA students to attend an Open House event at FIDM’s Orange County campus on Saturday between 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to meet FIDM alumni, faculty, and FIDM graduate/Project Runway star Nick Verreos.

On the FIDM Blog this week, read interviews with the top three finalists of the FIDM/DECA Runway Challenge 2013! FIDM congratulates the winning team, Mary Heck and Erica Golubovsky of Bergen County Academies in Hackensack, N.J. who received a travel stipend to ICDC. Read a Q&A with Mary Heck and Erica Golubovksy at this link, and be sure to check back on the FIDM Blog for interviews with the second and third place winners.
