Exercise and Brainpower at the Finish Line/DECA Dash

The 2013 International Career Development Conference will be here before we know it! The first day of conference is a flurry of activity as everyone prepares for competition. If all the travel, stress, and excitement becomes too much, there is one way to keep your mind sharp and ready for your events: exercise!

Lucky for you, the Finish Line/DECA Dash is the very first event at the high school ICDC this year! Here are some of the benefits of starting your conference experience with a nice walk or jog through Anaheim:

  • Exercise increases blood flow and oxygen to the brain, which increases energy levels. While it might be tempting to stay in bed a little longer, your brain will actually benefit more from that walk or jog at the DECA Dash!
  • Exercise reduces stress levels and helps you to relax.  There is so much going on at ICDC, who doesn’t want to remain calm and focused? Here’s your chance to start conference with a calm mood and sharp mind!
  • Feeling a cold coming on? Exercise actually helps to boost your immune system, making it possible to ward off that cold completely or at least spend less time being sick. Take charge of your health at conference and join us at the DECA Dash!
  • Advisors, looking for a way to get your students focused for their events? Look no further than the Finish Line/DECA Dash! Walk or jog off some of that nervous energy and start conference off on the right foot!
